The legal team representing the president activated the () pre-campaign at the (Superior Electoral Court) to request the removal of a video that associates the president with schemes.
The video features cuts from an interview given by President Lula and excerpts from former minister Antônio Palocci’s testimony in the context of Lava Jato that associate Lula with receiving bribes.
In the piece, lawyers Ângelo Ferraro and Miguel Novaes, partners at the firm Ferraro, Rocha and Novaes, claim that Flávio has used his profile on the networks to spread lies and attacks on President Lula.
“In the echo chamber of the social network, it becomes capable of disorienting voters and causing informational disorder, so that the population gradually loses the ability to distinguish truth from falsehood, facts from versions”, says the piece.
The request filed with the electoral court says that the pattern of conduct is aggressive and artificial and incites the population to a false conclusion.
The lawyers claim that the investigation into Lava Jato has already been archived and say that the “electoral connotation is blatant” by distorting old journalistic articles as an electoral weapon.
The video also features headlines about Lulinha’s possible participation in the INSS fraud scheme. The lawyers ask for the video to be removed from the air and also for the right to reply to be published on the same platform and with the same promotion to guarantee the same visibility.
The video posted by Flávio already has 1.6 million views. The company’s legal team is concerned about the impact on the campaign.
“Disinformation is anticipated, circulates before the formal calendar and already produces relevant electoral effects in the pre-campaign”, concludes the request.
