Rapper Oruam and family are target of operation against CV in Rio

Action seeks to dismantle money laundering scheme resulting from drug trafficking by the criminal faction

Rapper Oruam, his mother, Márcia Nepomuceno, and his brother Lucas Nepomuceno were targets of an operation by the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro, launched on Wednesday morning (29.Apr.2026), which seeks to dismantle the financial arm of CV (Comando Vermelho).

The action carries out search and seizure warrants at addresses in Jacarepaguá and Barra da Tijuca, in the southwest zone of the capital of Rio de Janeiro, to combat the criminal faction’s money laundering scheme. Oruam and his family are considered fugitives from the authorities.

During the searches, Carlos Alexandre Martins da Silva was arrested. According to the Civil Police, the detainee is a financial operator for Márcia Nepomuceno.

The operation is the result of investigations that lasted 1 year. The agents mapped the financial system used by the criminal organization to launder money from drug trafficking. The investigations were based on the analysis and crossing of telematic and financial data.

The action is part of , which has already captured more than 300 members of the faction. Another 136 criminals were killed in the confrontation, according to police. Security forces seized more than 470 weapons. Of these, 190 are rifles. More than 51,000 rounds of ammunition were also confiscated.

Investigations are ongoing to identify other members, possible companies used in money laundering and indirect beneficiaries of illicit resources.
