Alice Springs – The five-year-old girl missing in the outback was found dead by Australian rescue workers south of the city of Alice Springs on Thursday. The discovery of the body was a “shocking development,” Police Commissioner Martin Dole said at a press conference. An autopsy will be performed on Friday, Dole said. Since the weekend, police had been intensively searching for the girl in the outback around the northern Australian town of Alice Springs.
