More than a ton of marijuana were seized by the Federal Police (PF) during an attack on a truck traveling along the Feliciano Sales Cunha Highway

More than a ton of marijuana were seized by the Federal Police (PF) during an attack on a truck traveling along the Feliciano Sales Cunha Highway (SP-310), in the municipality of Monte Aprazível, this Sunday (3). The total load of the drug weighed approximately 1,098 kilograms.

The action occurred after intelligence work indicated that the vehicle with the drugs was traveling to the São José do Rio Preto region. “In light of the information, teams of federal police officers carried out investigations and managed to locate and intercept the vehicle,” informed the PF. “During the approach, it was discovered that the drug, originating from the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, was hidden along with a load of cassava starch, in the back of the truck”, the note also says.

According to the PF, the driver was arrested red-handed and taken to the Federal Police unitwhere the arrest was ratified by the police authority. The person being investigated will remain at the disposal of the São Paulo Justice Department.
