Salzburg – The chemical sodium methylate leaked from a freight wagon at Salzburg main train station on Monday afternoon. While initially only individual tracks and platforms were closed, the entire station had to be evacuated around 5:30 p.m. The use was made more difficult by the fact that the chemical cannot come into contact with water. Trains waited for the closure and rail traffic resumed shortly before 7 p.m. Information about injuries was not available.
