Slovak actor and presenter Juraj Bača (38) he experienced moments full of horror a few days ago, which resulted in a minor conflict with the police. While searching for medicine for his son Bruno, who was struggling with high temperatures, he exceeded the speed limit. Although he immediately admitted his guilt and was willing to pay the fine on the spot, according to him, the approach of the law enforcement officers forced him to speak on .
The dramatic situation began when the actor’s partner Dominika Richterová (34) called in a panic that their son had a cold, a blue body and a temperature approaching 40 degrees. Bača, who was just passing from one pharmacy to another after the last packages of medicines, exceeded the speed limit in stress, and at that moment he was stopped by a police patrol. According to his own words, immediately after being stopped by the police, he explained the crisis situation, admitted his mistake and begged for a block fine to be issued as soon as possible so that he could continue on his way to save his son.
However, instead of acting quickly, a process followed that led the actor to lose his temper. The patrol first subjected him to a breath test, which he had to repeat up to three times, while the result was zero. Subsequently, the issuing of papers stretched for several minutes, while the second policeman continued to measure other cars. When Bača got out of the vehicle and went to ask the patrol to return the documents and speed up the process, he received a cold answer, according to him – the more nervous he gets, the longer the whole thing will take.
The outraged actor commented on the whole incident in a video on the social network, where he emphasized that he didn’t mind paying the fine, but was disappointed by the lack of empathy. In his message to the young police officers, he said he never wished them to experience such despair and urged them to try to be more humane in their work next time.
The Bratislava police also responded to the actor’s video on Monday (May 4). Through the spokesperson Lukáš Pecek, he rejects the accusations and explains that the child was not in the vehicle, so the policemen were not supposed to objectively verify his claim. According to the police, this is a frequent excuse of drivers, while the patrol proceeded strictly according to the law. According to the law enforcement officers, the breathalyzer test was repeated solely because the driver did not follow the policeman’s instructions.
The police remind that in the event of a real threat to health, if the patient is directly in the car, the patrols usually provide an escort to the hospital. However, in life-threatening situations, citizens are strongly advised to call the emergency services directly on line 155, rather than risking their lives by driving extremely fast.
Why didn’t they call an ambulance?
After media coverage of the case, Juraj Bač received many messages in which people asked why they did not call an ambulance. The popular actor and presenter thanked everyone for their support, said that the son is now doing better and explained why he and his partner decided not to strain the system.
“It happened very quickly. When I left the house, the little one was still fine. I only learned that his condition had worsened from a phone call, just before I was stopped by the police. Dominika did everything right and as best as she knew at that moment. Of course, all this was also consulted with the doctor. As for those symptoms – blue hands, marble body, shivering – as we later learned, these are all accompanying phenomena of high temperature in small babies. It is not a life-threatening condition,” he revealed in the latest and continued.
“Basically, if it doesn’t last long and the temperature can be brought down with medication, it can be said that it’s fine. I can honestly say that every parent probably understands that when they have a child in such a condition, and it doesn’t matter how serious the condition is, they simply want to resolve the situation as soon as possible and as quickly as possible, so that the child will be comfortable. I will emphasize once again that I never wanted to denigrate the work of the police of the Slavic Republic. I’m still on your side and always will be. I’m not even mad at those young men who stopped me on the weekend,” he added, but he did not forget to mention several errors, he should have found in the statement of the Bratislava police.
“For example, the time doesn’t fit. It certainly couldn’t have been 8:30 p.m., because the pharmacy I went to closes at 8:00 p.m. I have the bill from the terminal when I bought the medicine and the transcript of the call when the call took place. So it certainly could not have been at the time in which you write. I don’t know if you’ve mistaken me for someone, but this doesn’t fit,” said Bača. “As for the speed, I was basing it on the fact that I heard from your colleague. All I know is that when they were talking at my window, one asked the other how much. He said in six, I don’t even know if not in four. And then they turned to me and said that it would be a 30-euro fine. If there is a recording of this situation, just play it, this will definitely be there.” he finished. You can find the entire VIDEO at the beginning of the article!
