Šutaj Eštok is clear about this: The vote would LEAVE the coalition if it were to…

Hlas-SD would leave the coalition in a moment if any of the coalition partners wanted to reach for the 13th pensions. This was announced by the Minister of the Interior and head of Hlas-SD Matúš Šutaj Eštok in the Slovak Radio’s talk show Sobotné dialogy. According to the member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic and leader of the PS Michal Šimečka, 13. pensions in their current form are unsustainable for the state budget.

  • The vote of the SD would immediately leave the coalition in limiting the thirteenth pensions.
  • Michal Šimečka considers the current thirteenth pension to be a budgetary unsustainable measure.

“We will end up in bankruptcy, and then there will be not only 13 pensions, not even seven,” pointed out Šimečka. He continued that the PS is in favor of addressing the 13th pensions. He is also of the opinion that the costs of 13th pensions could be cut in half. At the same time, Šutaj Eštok thinks that Hlas-SD is the only one left within the political spectrum who will fight for pensioners.

The topic of the discussion was also the case of the civil association Projekt Fórum, in which Šimečk’s mother, Marta Šimečková, is a statutory member. In this context, Šimečka noted that he is not afraid that this case could affect this year’s municipal elections to the detriment of the current opposition. When asked if he should resign from the position of PS chairman because of his mother’s case, he replied that this case does not concern either PS or him and he has no reason to be responsible for the actions of his adult parents.

Šutaj Eštok, on the other hand, thinks that the case concerns the PS movement. At the same time, he reproached Šimečka that if a similar case concerned someone who had something to do with the government coalition, “Šimečka would personally shout”. At the same time, the Minister of the Interior sees no reason to reconstruct the government. According to him, he has no reason to do anything with his ministers. “If the coalition partners decide otherwise, it is up to them and they can clean things up within their positions as they need,” Šutaj Eštok added.
