The total value of the prize includes game broadcasting rights and income linked to the national competition
O This Sunday (May 10, 2026) won the 29th La Liga title in its history by beating Real Madrid 2-0 at Camp Nou, in the city of Barcelona. In addition to winning the Spanish Championship in advance, the Catalan club should earn around €100 million euros (approximately R$550 million) with prizes, game broadcasting rights and income linked to the national competition.
The team led by Hansi Flick defined the classic in the 1st half. The first goal came in the 9th minute, from a free kick by Marcus Rashford. In the 18th minute, Ferrán Torres doubled after Dani Olmo’s backheel assist.
With the result, Barcelona reached 91 points and opened a 14-point lead over Real Madrid, in 2nd place, with no possibility of being reached in the remaining 3 rounds of the competition. The title also guaranteed the club its second consecutive Spanish championship.
The classic was played with important absences on both sides. Barcelona entered the field without Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Jules Koundé. Real Madrid were without Kylian Mbappé, Rodrygo, Éder Militão and Dani Carvajal.
The victory also marked the first time that Barcelona mathematically confirmed a Spanish title in a classic against Real Madrid.
LA LIGA MONEY DISTRIBUTION
La Liga distributes revenue to clubs through different revenue sources, mainly national and international broadcasting rights. Part of the money is divided equally between the 20 teams in the 1st division, while another portion varies according to the sporting performance and commercial relevance of each club.
The Spanish champion receives a larger share of this distribution for finishing the competition in the lead. Clubs such as FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF also generate high revenues due to their global audience, commercial contracts and market share in international football.
In addition to amounts linked to television, clubs accumulate revenue from performance bonuses, sponsorship agreements, ticketing, marketing and the sale of official products. As a result, the total revenue of a La Liga champion can exceed €100 million in a single season.
