Explosion in SP: Sabesp and Comgás will pay R$2,000 to affected citizens

Comgás and Sabesp held a press conference on Monday night (11) to clarify the next steps after the explosion recorded in the Jaguaré neighborhood, in the West Zone of São Paulo. The companies informed that the first compensation will be paid immediately, in the amount of R$2,000, to the affected families, through Pix.

The companies stated that, in addition to the amount deposited in the accounts of people already registered, the affected population is being sent to hotels. From this Tuesday (12), A survey of the damage will be carried out to fully pay for the expenses and losses caused by the explosion.

Remember the explosion

A house exploded and caused a fire in the Alvorada neighborhood, in the Jaguaré region, West Zone of São Paulo, on Monday afternoon (11). The explosion is suspected to have been caused by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Residents reported screams and a strong smell of gas after the explosion.

Initially, the Military Police reported that a failure in an action by Comgás had caused the accident. Minutes later, Fire Department captain Karoline Burunsizian confirmed that, during a Sabesp project, a gas pipe was punctured, causing the explosion. Floresto Bandecchi, Dr. Benedito de Moraes Leme and Piraúba streets were the most affected.
