The PP wants to demonstrate its pre-candidacy strength in two consecutive events this Friday (15) and Saturday (16), amid a scenario of uncertainty on the right. The idea is to reinforce the name of the former Secretary of Security and present him as the most competitive in this field.
“Based on the polls we are receiving, the first vote will be for Derrite, while the second one I don’t know who it will be for”, says the state president of the PP, Maurício Neves.
Also standing as right-wing candidates are the president of the Legislative Assembly, André do Prado (PL), and federal deputy Ricardo Salles (Novo).
Neves wants governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) – to defeat and one more. Otherwise, a left-wing candidate could benefit.
“Only the governor has the ability to resolve this fundamental issue, which will even help Flávio Bolsonaro’s own candidacy”, says the PP leader.
Salles and Prado have said that they will not give up on their candidacy, however.
The events will take place in Campinas on Friday and in Sorocaba on Saturday. Mayors, deputies and PP members are being called to both events. The presence of Tarcísio and Flávio is expected.
