The brief truce between Kiev and Moscow ended and the war in Ukraine intensified again with a new wave of Russian attacks. After three days of a ceasefire that Volodymyr Zelensky described as a “partial silence”, Moscow launched more than 200 drones into Ukrainian territory.
The attacks caused damage to energy infrastructure, residential buildings and even a daycare center. According to the France-Presse agency, there is at least one deadin an offensive that reached Kiev and regions such as Dnipro and Kharkiv.
No X, Zelensky acusou a Russia having carried out more than 30 attacks and promised a Ukrainian response, insisting that it is up to the Kremlin to end the war.
But Moscow returns responsibility to Kiev.
“As you know, the humanitarian ceasefire has ended. The special military operation continues and may stop at any time, as soon as the regime in Kiev and Zelensky assume responsibilities and make the necessary decisions,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
While the smoke from the attacks still hung over Kiev, the Kremlin released images of a charm operation by Vladimir Putin. The Russian president appeared driving a vehicle, dressed informally, to visit the former teacher, now 92 years old, who he invited to dinner at the Kremlin.
But beyond military pressure, Kiev is now also facing a new internal political crisis.
Andriy Yermak, former chief of staff and one of Zelensky’s closest allies, was formally named a defendant for alleged. AND suspected of laundering around 10 million dollars through a luxury real estate project on the outskirts of Kiev.
Yermak had after searches by anti-corruption authorities.
The Ukrainian authorities have already come to guarantee that Volodymyr Zelensky is not targeted in this process.
