Pre-candidate for Palácio do Planalto, the senator (-RJ) stated that he would not refuse to greet the president (PT) if he met the PT member during the minister’s inauguration ceremony (Superior Electoral Court) this Tuesday (12).
“If you pass by there, I have no problem greeting you,” Flávio told journalists upon arrival at the event, held at the headquarters of the electoral court, in Brasília. Lula also confirmed that he will go to the inauguration of his predecessor’s nominee, (PL), at the (Supreme Federal Court).
Flávio Bolsonaro has emerged in electoral polls in recent months and appears as Lula’s main opponent in the October election. It was in December last year.
Flávio also stated that he has not yet spoken to Kassio, but said he hopes he will be impartial and neutral during the October elections. According to the senator, in 2022, the minister “unbalanced” the presidential contest, when his father was defeated by Lula.
“The TSE is like football refereeing: it can’t appear in the game. It doesn’t appear much, otherwise the referee is making a lot of mistakes,” he said.
Asked whether the opposition will seek to reverse Bolsonaro’s ineligibility under Kassio’s presidency, Flávio argued that it is first necessary to try to annul the coup plot process in the Supreme Court that sentenced the former president to 27 years and 3 months in prison.
Last week, Bolsonaro’s defense, which will be reported by Kassio Nunes Marques and should only analyze the case after his inauguration at the TSE.
