Nippon Steel Corporation has decided to transfer US Steel’s Košice steel mills to its direct ownership. US Steel Košice, s.r.o., will thus become a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Steel. The transition to direct ownership is planned for October 1, also with a name change to Nippon Steel Slovakia s.r.o This was reported by Nippon Steel, which is Japan’s largest steel producer.
