Applications for support grants for Legal journalists interested in participating in person in São Paulo are open until May 31, 2026.
The initiative is carried out in partnership with Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima and Tocantins.
The congress takes place from July 30th to August 1st, 2026, at the Paraíso Campus of Unip, in the capital of São Paulo.
Experienced or early-career journalists who have published at least one report on topics related to environmental crimes, socio-environmental impacts of large infrastructure projects or environmental defenders can apply. Works in different formats are accepted, such as text, video, photography, podcast, radio, documentary and television.
The scholarships include air tickets, accommodation, congress tickets and food and travel expenses. The names of those selected will be announced by June 9, 2026.
The selection will be made by a commission made up of representatives from Abraji and Transparency International – Brazil. Among the criteria considered are relevance of journalistic activities, regional diversity, gender, race, ethnicity and inclusion of people with disabilities.
