Meadow-sweet

“The tavolnik is one of the most thankless ornamental shrubs that you can buy for the garden. Its huge advantage is that it does not require any complex care and grows even in conditions where the vast majority of plants do not thrive. Tavolnias grow well both in the sun and in semi-shade, and can cope with drier and poorer soil as well.. Precisely because they are so resistant, you can often come across them, for example, in a city park, along roads or in gardens where other plants suffer from lack of moisture.” says Ludmila.

“It is definitely a good choice even for beginning gardeners and growers, as the trellis forgives even beginners’ mistakes. It is ideal to choose a sunny place for it, as it blooms best in the sun, but it can also handle a place in semi-shade. The soil should ideally be lighter and well permeablebut due to the fact that it is a really adaptable shrub, it can also cope with drier soil poorer in nutrients. As for watering, the main thing is not to overwater this ornamental shrub. Tavolnik tolerates drought much better than . So it’s better if you forget to water it a few times than if you overpour it.”

“The table saw also has a great advantage in that it is very easy to cut. In the spring, it is enough to shorten it by about a third, so that it thickens nicely and creates new shoots that will bloom profusely. Older and damaged branches are removed completely without much worry, because this one the bush has very strong, and above all, fast regeneration abilities and grows quickly. Then in the summer, when it is covered with flowers that are full of nectar, it attracts bees, butterflies and bumblebees from far and wide.”

It will also survive tropical heat

“For the past few years, people have been looking for plants in their gardens that can handle extreme weather, and especially extreme summer temperatures. In this regard, the tavolník is really one of the best ornamental shrubs, because once it takes root, it can withstand drought, longer periods without rain, and still maintains abundant flowering. It is a hardy and undemanding shrub that easily brightens up the garden and attracts various pollinators.” stated Ludmila for iReceptář.
