There are places in Poland to which people return not only for the views, but above all for the atmosphere. Such a place is undoubtedly Polanica-Zdrój – one of the most beautiful health resorts in the country, located in the heart of the Kłodzko Land, at the foot of the Table Mountains. This city, which for years has been attracting spa guests, tourists, artists and lovers of active recreation, is today experiencing a unique renaissance.

Polanica delights from the first walk. The intimate Spa Park, elegant spa architecture, promenade, green paths and omnipresent peace create an atmosphere that is hard to find in large resorts. The town is surrounded by spruce and beech forests and gentle mountain ranges, thanks to which the air is exceptionally clean and the microclimate has been considered one of the best in Poland for years. Research by the Polish Academy of Sciences confirms that the local climate supports the treatment and regeneration of the body.

Health has been the greatest treasure of Polanica-Zdrój for centuries. Already in the 19th century, the extraordinary properties of local mineral waters were discovered, which are still a symbol of the city. “Wielka Pieniawa”, “Pieniawa Józefa” and “Staropolanka 2000”, known throughout the country, help in the treatment of cardiological, rheumatological, respiratory and digestive system diseases. Spa traditions harmoniously combine with modernity here – sanatoriums and medical facilities today offer modern rehabilitation treatments, physiotherapy and a wide range of wellness and SPA services.

However, Polanica-Zdrój is much more than a classic health resort. In recent years, the city has been dynamically developing its tourist and cultural offer, becoming one of the most interesting places in Lower Silesia. Restored Spa Theater named after M. Ćwiklińska hosts concerts, performances, literary meetings and festivals throughout the year. This is where events of national importance take place – including: Festival of Maria Czubaszek and Wojtek Karolak “Cały Kazio”, “Poets without borders”, “Świat pod Kyczerą” and culinary “Pejzaże Qlinarne”. In the summer, the Mountain of Literature Festival – Olga Tokarczuk will also come to the city, attracting the most outstanding creators and people of culture.

The city is also increasingly marking its position on the sports map of Poland. The surrounding hills, forest paths and picturesque routes attract both amateurs of recreational trips and MTB riders. The Bike Marathon has become a real showcase of the city – one of the most important mountain biking events in Poland. It is here, surrounded by the Spa Park and mountain landscapes, that hundreds of competitors from all over the country compete.

However, Polanica is not slowing down. A modern Cross Country route, designed for high-ranking training and competitions, will soon be available to cyclists. Moreover, the city has received permission to organize the Polish Mountain Biking Championships, which will take place in July. This is a huge distinction and proof that Polanica-Zdrój is becoming one of the most important cycling centers in Poland.

New family attractions also await visitors. The modern Water Park and the Barbara Glass Manufaktura, which refers to the tradition of the legendary glassworks associated with Professor Zbigniew Horbowy, are very popular. Metallurgical shows, workshops and the opportunity to see the glass-making process from the inside make it one of the most original places in the region.

Polanica-Zdrój is a unique place today – elegant and peaceful, and at the same time modern and full of energy. Here you can relax, take care of your health, spend time actively, participate in cultural events and simply slow down. It is an ideal destination for a weekend, family holiday, or a longer regenerative stay.

At a time when we are increasingly looking for authentic places with character, Polanica-Zdrój proves that spa tradition can go hand in hand with modernity, sport and culture. This is a place you really want to come back to.
