Trump says he believes Xi agrees Iran should not have a nuclear weapon

US President Donald Trump said on Thursday (14) that he believes Chinese President Xi Jinping agrees that Iran should not have a nuclear weapon.

In an interview with Fox Newswith its Chinese counterpart.

“I don’t think China wants Iran to have a nuclear weapon either. I said, ‘Don’t get too excited, you don’t need them to have a nuclear weapon,'” Trump told Sean Hannity in Beijing.

Asked about Xi’s response, Trump deflected, telling the Fox News host: “Well, he’s not going to answer me. He’s a very calm guy — he’s not going to say, ‘Wow, that’s a good point,'” adding that he believed the Chinese leader agreed.

“I don’t think he wants (Iran to have a nuclear weapon),” Trump said.

“No, he would like to see an end to this, but has he behaved well, hasn’t he done anything hostile?”, he added.

Trump said Xi told him, “If I can help in any way,” reach a deal with Iran.
