The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, condemned this Thursday “the indiscriminate attack against civilians” that Russia launched against Ukraine last morning and which caused, according to local authorities, the death of at least three people. “Last night, Russia launched one of its longest and most ruthless drone attacks against Ukraine. Another night of death and destruction and indiscriminate attack on civilians,” the German politician said in a post on her social networks. Von der Leyen maintained that, while Russia “openly mocks diplomatic efforts”, the community bloc continues to “strengthen Ukraine” and recalled that the EU is finalizing a drone support package worth more than 6 billion euros. “And we maintain pressure on Russia’s war economy with increasingly harsh sanctions,” said the European president. Last morning, a Russian attack on kyiv left at least three people dead and 16 injured, according to the head of the Military Administration of the Ukrainian capital, Timur Tkancheno, and the Ukrainian Emergency Service.
