War in the Middle East was the subject of the Republican’s last meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing
On the last day of the visit of the President of the United States (Republican Party) to Beijing, he published an official note saying that a lasting ceasefire between the US and Iran must be reached as quickly as possible and that navigation in the Strait of Hormuz must be resumed immediately.
“This conflict, which should never have happened, has no reason to continue. Finding a solution as quickly as possible is beneficial to both the US and Iran, as well as countries in the region and the world as a whole.”says the note. Here is it (PDF – 173 kB, in English).
The statement was released while the last meeting between Trump and the president of China was taking place, (Communist Party of China)in the Zhongnanhai complex, the official residence of the Chinese leader. At the meeting, Trump reinforced that China and the US agree that Iran cannot have an atomic bomb. The Iranian nuclear program was the reason the US started the war.
The Republican said he also wants the conflict in the Middle East to end as quickly as possible. He declared that the views of China and the US on the war are similar.
“Our feelings toward Iran are very similar. We want this to end. We don’t want them to have nuclear weapons. We want the straits open.”disse Trump.
The meeting in Zhongnanhai was Trump’s last engagement in Beijing. After lunch with Xi, the head of the White House went straight to Beijing International Airport, where he boarded Air Force One to return to the USA.
