EU Commissioner Kos calls for a stable government: 880 million euros in funding are at stake
An upcoming new election is intended to resolve the political deadlock and push forward reforms.
In view of ongoing political instability, Kosovo is at risk of losing millions of euros in EU funding. During her first official visit to Kosovo, EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos said on Friday that the country needed stability in order to “take advantage” of EU funding totaling 880 million euros. She was referring in particular to a months-long political blockade in the country due to a largely dysfunctional parliament.
