At the launch of his pre-candidacy, Derrite gathered right-wing allies amid the political wear and tear of the Bolsonaro family
The federal deputy and former secretary of Public Security of São Paulo (PP-SP) launched this Friday (May 15, 2026), in Campinas (SP), its pre-campaign for the Federal Senate. The event was marked by the defense of the formation of a conservative majority in Congress.
Although he gathered allies from (PL-RJ) amid the repercussions of the , founder of Banco Master. The meeting avoided delving into the topic and focused the speeches on the right-wing strategy for the 2026 elections.
In his speech, Derrite stated that the political group’s priority is to expand the conservative presence in the Senate to directly influence the direction of the House in the coming years.
“We have the opportunity to make the majority of the Senate to elect a right-wing conservative president”he declared.
Derrite also directed part of the speech to public security and compared the PCC’s actions to international terrorism. The statement comes at a time when the advance of organized crime has returned to the center of political debate, including after the conversation between the president (PT) and the president of the United States, Donald Trump (Republican Party), about combating criminal factions.
The former secretary also associated the advance of organized crime with the national political scene and defended stricter action against criminal factions. “There is only one way to stop the advance of organized crime in Brazil: with a majority in the Senate, a majority in the Chamber and the courage to classify PCC and Comando Vermelho as terrorist organizations”he stated.
In addition to Flávio Bolsonaro, the event was attended by the governor of São Paulo, (Republicans), whose participation was not officially on the public agenda, and the senator (PL-PR).
During the act, Moro came to Flávio’s defense and criticized political opponents. “You can try to reverse it, but the Master scandal belongs to the PT”, stated the senator.
The PL sought to demonstrate unity among right-wing leaders and reinforce the narrative of strengthening a conservative bench in the Senate, avoiding turning the meeting into an act of direct reaction to Vorcaro’s involvement in the film “Dark Horse”which narrates the trajectory of the former president (PL).
