German actor Alexander Held died at the age of 67 after a short battle with the disease. He breathed his last on May 11, TV reports. Held starred in award-winning films like Schindler’s List, The Fall of the Third Reich and also in the popular series Kobra 11.
„We are very sad. When I think of Alexander Held, I think of his gentle, melancholic gaze, which gave his acting a philosophical touch, and of his refined humor, which he endowed his roles with.” said Frank Zervos, head of the main editorial office for television and film at ZDF station.
The death of a colleague also affected the actor Erdoğan Atalaya, who played the legendary Semir Gerkhan. “I was always very happy when Gerald Alexander Held appeared in Kobra. He was not only an excellent actor, but also a wonderful colleague.” wrote Atalay on Instagram.
The actors have been friends for many years. “We’ve known each other since the 1980s, when I tried my first acting steps at the State Theater in Hanover. Dear Gerald, rest in peace, I’ve always admired you!” added Atalay in his touching message.
