Pila (Gressan) – On the hardest stage of this year’s Giro d’Italia so far, Jonas Vingegaard clearly underlined his claim to overall victory. The Dane also left Felix Gall behind at the end of the 14th stage on Saturday and took the overall lead with the day’s victory, 49 seconds ahead of the East Tyrolean. Gall, who started the 133 km long stage in the Aosta Valley in fourth place, improved to third place overall, 2:50 minutes behind Vingegaard and 24 seconds behind the Portuguese Afonso Eulalio.
