“The deal has already been largely negotiated, but is still subject to final approval by the United States, the Islamic Republic of Iran and various other countries,Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform, referring to the countries of the Middle East. “The agreement includes, among many other parts, the opening of the Strait of Hormuz,” Trump claimed.
The US president released the statement after speaking on the phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday. “The phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu went very well, as usual,” said Trump. At the same time, he announced that he also called with representatives of other countries, for example from Turkey or Pakistan. The Financial Times reported on Saturday that the United States and Iran, according to mediators, are close to an agreement to extend the ceasefire by 60 days and create a framework for negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program.
