Imazon index places Gavião Peixoto at the top of the national list and highlights municipalities in São Paulo based on social and environmental indicators
The State of São Paulo has 11 of the 20 cities with the best living conditions in Brazil, according to a survey by . Gavião Peixoto, with 4,800 thousand inhabitants and 307 km away from the capital of São Paulo, leads the ranking as the city with the best quality of life in the country. In total, all 5,570 municipalities in the country were evaluated.
The calculation is made by the IPS (Social Progress Index), which measures and classifies quality of life based on 57 social and environmental indicators. Information comes from public sources such as , , e .

Jundiaí
In addition to being a protagonist in quality of life, Jundiaí is also prominent in the tourism sector. The city has been an MIT (Municipality of Tourist Interest) since 2017. In other words, the government of São Paulo recognizes its tourism potential and facilitates access to state resources for infrastructure and development of the sector. In April this year, the city received authorization for a new agreement worth R$600,000 for tourist infrastructure.
The municipality is also part of the Fruit Circuit, formed by cities with an agricultural tradition, especially in the production of fruit, wine and rural tourism. Jundiaí receives around 660,000 tourists per year. The city is also a destination for the Expresso Turístico da which departs from Estação da Luz, in the capital of São Paulo, bound for Mogi das Cruzes and Paranapiacaba.
Itupeva
Another highlight of the ranking is the city of Itupeva. The city is also part of the Fruit Circuit and has a vocation for rural tourism, gastronomy, producing properties and events linked to fruit growing. The circuit highlights the regional production of grapes, strawberries, peaches, guava, plums, persimmons, acerola and figs.
