However, in addition to his comedic positions, he also demonstrated enormous dramatic talent and incredible personal strength. In 2007, he overcame a severe course of West Nile fever, after which he became paralyzed, but thanks to an extremely strong will and optimism, he was able to return to a full-fledged life and to acting. His artistic contribution was appreciated by professional critics, when in 2017 he won the prestigious Czech Lion award for the best male acting performance in the leading role in the movie Ice Doll.
