Iran says it coordinated the passage of 33 vessels in Hormuz in the last 24 hours

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy reported this Sunday (24) that, in the last 24 hours, 33 vessels, including oil tankers, container ships and other commercial vessels, passed through the Strait of Hormuz “after receiving authorization and in coordination with us”.

The information comes after Iran denied having relinquished control and Hormuz as part of the agreement being negotiated with the United States.

Mohsen Rezaei, military advisor to Iran’s supreme leader, said on Sunday that the administration of the Strait of Hormuz is Tehran’s “legal right” to guarantee national security.

“Iran’s administration of the Strait of Hormuz puts an end to 50 years of insecurity in the Persian Gulf,” Rezaei was quoted as saying by Iranian news agencies.

Furthermore, a senior Iranian source told Reuters that Iran’s nuclear issue is not part of the preliminary agreement with the US.

“The nuclear issue will be addressed in negotiations for a final agreement and is therefore not part of the current deal. There has been no agreement on Iran’s highly enriched uranium stockpile being shipped out of the country,” the source said.
