
The explosion of a chemical tank at a paper factory in the State of Washington, in the extreme northwest of the United States, on Tuesday morning has left a currently unknown number of dead and also 10 injured. According to local authorities, emergency services responded to a “multiple casualty scene.” In a joint statement, Nippon Dynawave Packaging Co. and local security forces said the tank rupture had caused “multiple critical injuries” as well as deaths, although they did not report the number of victims. They also confirmed that the injuries had been caused by burns or inhalation of toxic substances, and that there was no longer a threat to the public.
