The meeting, scheduled for June 9th and 10th in Brasília, is an offshoot of the party’s 8th congress, which took place in April. The motto of the seminar “paths to democratization and self-correction of the Brazilian Justice system”;
The final document of that event defended the “reform of the Judiciary, aiming at democratization, self-correction mechanisms and strengthening the Rule of Law”. The topic is a priority for PT president, Edinho Silva, who is also the general coordinator of the PT campaign.
The list of seminar participants is still being finalized, but should include party leaders, academics and legal professionals.
People who participated in the first reform of the Judiciary, carried out in 2005, which created the National Council of Justice (CNJ) and the binding summary, must be called. The organization is run by criminal lawyer Rodrigo Portella, coordinator of the legal sector of the national PT.
Among the topics under debate are proposals to speed up the functioning of Justice and the development of a conduct manual for the court, proposed by the president of the STF, Edson Fachin.
