Flávio Bolsonaro displays the coin of honor he received from Trump

Senator classified the gift given at the White House as a “rare gesture” and a sign of prestige

The senator (PL-RJ) stated that he received a coin of honor from the (Republican Party) at the end of the White House, on Tuesday (May 26, 2026). In a post on Instagram, he classified the gift as a “rare gesture, reserved for allies” and said delivery “demonstrates enormous prestige”.

The object is a medallion traditionally associated with the United States Armed Forces. The piece usually bears insignia of institutions and is given as a sign of recognition, belonging or a souvenir of an official visit. The North American Department of Defense states that the military tradition is around a century old and is used to reinforce group spirit and recognize merit.

Flávio met with Trump at the White House and later published a photo alongside the Republican. According to the senator, the US president asked about the conditions of the former president’s (PL) prison. The visit was criticized by government officials, who as a “smoke screen”.
