Rescuers reported this Wednesday (27) that five of the seven residents trapped a week ago in a flooded cave in Laos were found alive.
They were located by specialized cave divers and, for now, remain trapped in an underground cave, while rescue teams continue to search for the two remaining residents.
A risky rescue operation was launched amid adverse weather conditions. They are believed to be trapped on “a raised ledge inside the cave, which receives continuous airflow”, Laos’ state news agency reported on Tuesday (26).
