The person concerned returned from Uganda on Monday 25 May, where the authorities have recorded several cases of this infection in the past period, including one death. Uganda is immediately adjacent to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which is considered to be the original focus of the current epidemic.
The patient was hospitalized on Wednesday, May 27, after developing health problems. Although the initial laboratory blood test did not confirm the presence of the Ebola virus, doctors remain cautious. Further control samples are needed to definitively rule out the infection, and therefore the patient continues to stay in strict isolation under professional supervision.
