New platform brings together cases of ‘digital censorship’ – 06/01/2026 – Panel

With the former federal deputy (PL-SP) as one of his supporters, an international online platform will be launched this Monday (1st) bringing together cases defined by their authors as digital censorship.

The page presents itself as a news portal that uses artificial intelligence resources “to present the latest stories on Brazilian politics and ensure that the voices of the country’s dissidents are heard.”

The initiative is from the Layer3.Press portal, founded by American Peter Yared, former executive at the CBS News network. The launch will take place at the Oslo Freedom Forum, an event in defense of freedom of expression that takes place in the Norwegian capital.

“We are honored to be working with such distinguished Brazilian dissidents to launch the portal on the eve of the 2026 Brazilian elections,” says Yared.

According to the platform’s organizers, Brazil has become a global case of persecution on the networks, mainly due to the investigation into digital militias, led by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court.

The portal will use AI to aggregate content from news sites, RSS feeds and X/Twitter profiles. Layer3.Press publishes directly to the Nostr network, which would be resistant to blocking attempts.

The platform’s founders say they had the cooperation of exponents of Bolsonarism, called “dissidents”, with whom they are close.

“I saw firsthand how the Brazilian regime prevents millions of my followers from seeing my posts on social media. Layer3.Press is the most effective solution to finally level the playing field”, says Eduardo Bolsonaro, in the platform’s presentation material.

Others who spoke in praise of the initiative are conservative judge Ludmila Lins Grilo and commentator Leandro Ruschel. Everyone, like Eduardo, lives in self-exile in the USA.
