President of the PL stated that Lula is highly rejected and that the party will overcome internal crises
PL national, Valdemar Costa Neto, told Poder360 this Thursday (June 4, 2026) that the party, which has (RJ) as a pre-candidate for the Presidency, will only not win the election in case of incompetence.
“If it’s a crisis, yes, we will have others. And we will overcome them all, because Lula has a 48% rejection rate. We will only lose the election if we are very incompetent. And we are not”declared Valdemar during the March for Jesus, held in São Paulo.
When evaluating the management of (PL), Valdemar said that the former president only governed for 2 years, as the remainder of his term was with “the country closed” because of the covid pandemic.
Still, according to Valdemar, Bolsonaro delivered “a great result for the country”. He said that the objective for the next term is the resumption of economic growth and the creation of jobs.
“We need to go back, make the country grow and improve people’s lives, we have a lot of people who need jobs and we need to move this country forward”he stated.
Valdemar also commented on trade relations with the United States and the possibility of new tariffs on Brazil. He said he believes there will be an understanding between the 2 countries on a resolution.
“I think there will be an agreement. There will be no taxes. [Trump] Brazil needs a lot too. We need to negotiate well, negotiate with the United States and reach a point of agreement. They need us too”he declared.
