Flávio Bolsonaro’s lawyers take advantage of the delay in defining Lula’s legal team to intensify the electoral offensive

The senator and pre-candidate for President (PL-RJ) has taken advantage of the gap to intensify a legal offensive with more than 40 electoral representations against the PT member
Flávio hired the former TSE minister to coordinate the campaign’s entire legal team. Bucchianeri has experience in the electoral area and a good relationship with the ministers of the TSE and the (Supreme Federal Court).
She set up a team responsible for actively monitoring all PT statements and actions that could be considered “negative propaganda” against the PL and early electoral propaganda. The lawyer, responsible for the area of criminal electoral law, also works on the team.
By June 2, the PL team had already filed a lawsuit with the TSE against Lula and the PT in 44 representations – in 2022, (PL) filed 149 representations throughout the campaign.
Now, Flávio Bolsonaro is already responding (as defendant) to 23 representations filed by the PT and other parties, such as Missão. In total, the PL and Flávio are involved in 67 actions involving the 2026 elections.
Currently, the PT lawyer has officially acted in cases involving the party and Lula’s pre-candidacy. However, the expectation is that legal coordination of the electoral campaign will be organized to work with the TSE and, eventually, in the criminal sphere.
Lula has already declared to the PT campaign coordinator, and allies, his desire to have the lawyer, from Grupo Prerrogativas and a close friend, take over the coordination of the legal team. However, formalization depends on a meeting with Edinho.
The PT coordinator has been adamant in making Lula’s appointment official and has already sought out other nearby lawyers who can act technically in the PT’s actions. Edinho Silva is pressured to interfere in the legal team, with names trusted by the party’s leadership.
The lack of definition regarding the name has generated internal discomfort within the party leadership: on the one hand, they say that Edinho Silva tends to “centralize” decisions about the PT campaign; on the other hand, there is the understanding that Edinho Silva wants to be cautious in his choices.
The president of the PT has already asked lawyers to join the eventual legal team. It turns out that assembling the team without confirming the leadership of the group of lawyers can deepen internal friction.
The delay in choosing is a constant complaint from lawyers and assistants to TSE ministers, who believe that a good dialogue with the team of lawyers will be necessary to speed up the judgment of representations.
