The President of the United States, Donald Trump, was the target of loud boos at Madison Square Garden, in New York, on Monday night, the 8th, before the start of the third game of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs.
The boos intensified when Trump appeared on the Madison Square Garden screen alongside New York Knicks owner James Dolan, in a box above the court, during the playing of the United States national anthem.
During the presidential motorcade’s journey to the stadium, protesters displayed signs with messages such as “No one wants you here” and “Trump should leave”. Other posters read “Impeachment” and “Conviction”.
The president watched the game from a box in the arena accompanied, among others, by his son-in-law Jared Kushner, the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Lee Zeldin, and the Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy.
