There is a threat of flash floods in the districts of Malacky, Trenčín, Ilava, Púchov and Považská Bystrica. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) therefore issued a first level warning do 19:00 hod., resp. do 20:00 hod. SHMÚ informed about it on its website.
“Given the expected torrential rainfall during storms, we anticipate a temporary significant local rise in water levels, especially on small streams, with the possibility of reaching and exceeding water levels corresponding to the degree of flood activity. It is a prerequisite for the occurrence of accompanying flood phenomena also outside the streams,” meteorologists zoomed in.
