AB InBev, owner of Ambev, and FIFA (International Football Federation) announced this Tuesday (9) the extension of the agreement that makes the company the official sponsor of the World Cup.

The brewery will continue to sponsor the competition until the 2030 edition, which will be held in six countries spread across three continents (Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Morocco, Spain and Portugal). The company will also support the 2027 Women’s World Cup.

Commercial details of the partnership were not disclosed.

In a statement, FIFA highlighted that the agreement should create new opportunities for AB InBev and its main brands to expand the experience of older fans around the world.

“We are excited to extend our historic partnership with AB InBev, the world’s largest brewer, beyond this year’s World Cup,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

“The World Cup is the biggest sporting event on the planet and attracts the attention of billions of fans,” said Michel Doukeris, CEO of AB InBev. “For 40 years, our brands have been at the center of these celebrations, reinforcing the strong connection between beer and sports culture.”

This year’s World Cup will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada and will begin on Thursday (11). The tournament will bring together 48 teams in 104 matches played until July 19th.
