US sanctions Chinese companies for facilitating weapons to Iran

The United States Treasury Department this Wednesday (June 10, 2026) sanctioned 11 people and entities accused of facilitating the purchase of weapons for the (Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) and MODAFL (Ministry of Defense and Logistics of the Iranian Armed Forces).

Among the targets are 9 people and companies from China and Hong Kong. According to the US government, those sanctioned were part of an arms acquisition and clandestine financial movement network linked to the Iranian military program.

The measure integrates the operation “Economic Fury” (Economic Fury), created to disrupt foreign networks linked to Iran’s military and weapons programs.

“Treasury is disrupting foreign procurement networks that support Iranian military efforts to acquire weapons”said US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

Among those sanctioned is Liu Boyu, director of the Hong Kong company Mustad Limited, which is suspected of facilitating transactions for the purchase of millions of dollars in weapons by the IRGC. The company Domus Trading HK Limited was also included in the list for alleged involvement in the Iranian clandestine financial network.

Chinese Meng Shaopei, owner of the company Solos International Limited, was also sanctioned for alleged participation in the operations.

The sanctions determine the freezing of goods and assets of those designated that are in the United States or under the control of US citizens. Foreign financial institutions that carry out relevant transactions with targets may be subject to restrictions.
