STF ministers see bomb agendas as an affront to the court – 06/10/2026 – Panel

Ministers of the (Supreme Federal Court) state that the court should bar the validity of the bomb guidelines approved by the , as they see it as an affront to the established thesis on public spending.

In April, it is unconstitutional to approve projects that create or increase expenses without indicating revenue to offset the fiscal impact.

Taking this into account, the government is already considering judicializing the matters and, thus, preventing them from coming into effect. In theory, according to a member of the Lula government, constitutional amendments could not even be enacted after the STF’s decision.

Even so, if they are promulgated by the National Congress, the fight must end again at the STF, which must bar the validity of the projects.

This Wednesday, at least three bomb agendas were approved by senators. They could cost more than R$800 billion over the next 13 years, according to the government.

One of them for community health agents and those fighting endemic diseases. The other from doctors and dental surgeons.

In the early evening, the Senate plenary approved the third bombshell agenda of the day: from large rural producers.
