The US and European allies accuse Iran of using gangs to attack Iranian dissidents

The United States and European allies say Iran is targeting dissidents, journalists and Jewish communities with the help of criminal groups. They demand an immediate stop to the attacks.

Twenty-two countries, including European states, the United States and Australia, on Wednesday jointly condemned Iran for using international and local criminal groups to carry out attacks and kill Iranian dissidents, journalists and members of Jewish communities. They called on Tehran to stop the attacks, reports TASR according to Reuters and AFP.

The joint statement was published by the US Department of Foreign Affairs on its website and was also signed by the Czech Republic, Denmark and the United Kingdom. According to him, the intelligence services of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, their special Quds forces and the Ministry of Intelligence and Security were involved in the “deadly plots and sinister acts” and other activities.

Report on attacks in Europe

It also condemned recent attacks across Europe claimed by the pro-Iranian group Harakat Ashhab al-Jamin al-Islamiyya (HAYI).

“Attempts to kill, kidnap, harass, intimidate and other attacks on our people undermine national sovereignty and international norms. These actions must stop immediately,” the signatory countries said in a statement.

“We are united in our determination to protect our countries and our citizens from these threats. The Islamic Republic of Iran must stop these actions immediately,” they added.
