The life of Hilde Lynn Helphenstein († 40)known under the artistic name Jerry Gogosian. A plastic surgeon found her in a hotel room in the Brazilian city of São Paulo shortly after she underwent an aesthetic procedure, the British newspaper writes. The doctor tried to contact her by phone, but in vain.

Since she didn’t pick up her phone, he decided to visit her directly at her five-star hotel. Kwhen the hotel staff opened the door, they found her lying motionless in bed. She did not respond to any stimuli. An empty bottle of vodka, a broken glass and several unidentified pills were found in the room.

The surgeon admitted to the police that he had to take her to the emergency room before because of a suspected overdose, while pointing out her alleged use of addictive substances. Hilde was originally from Oakland, California and spent about three weeks in São Paulo recovering from cosmetic surgery. Her body was found on May 31.

The local police officially registered the case as a “suspicious death”. Hilde Lynn Helphenstein has built a community of over 150,000 followers on Instagram. In her work, she satirized fads, social norms and the commercialization of the contemporary art world. She was a graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute.
