Former deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro suggested a total break with the Novo Party due to criticism from former governor of Minas Gerais Romeu Zema, Novo’s pre-candidate for President, towards senator Flávio Bolsonaro (RJ), PL’s pre-candidate for president and Eduardo’s brother.
The declaration took place at X, this Saturday (13). An internet user published an excerpt from an interview with Zema reiterating the criticism he made of Flávio for the senator’s contact with banker Daniel Vorcaro, former controller of Banco Master. “For me, anyone who hangs out with criminals deserves to be viewed with caution,” said Zema.
In response, Eduardo defended his brother. “And in 2024, who knew who Vorcaro was? And what compensation could Flávio offer in 2024, besides suffering persecution?”, he wrote. The former deputy also said that Zema criticized Flávio “just because he wanted to be in Flávio’s place”. And he concluded: “For me, I would completely break with the Novo Party”.
Despite Eduardo’s statements, Flávio had a relationship with Daniel Vorcaro until 2025, when he and the Master were already being investigated. The senator visited the banker after he was arrested for the first time, at the end of last year. According to Flávio, the contact was restricted to the film produced about the life of his father, former president Jair Bolsonaro, and there were no irregularities or illicit compensation.
Zema’s name has already been considered as a possible vice-president on Flávio Bolsonaro’s ticket, an option that displeases part of those around the Bolsonaro family. In another post on X, also this Saturday, Eduardo once again criticized Zema and suggested that he would like to have federal deputy Júlia Zanatta (PL-SC) as Flávio’s deputy.
