Who was Lucas Frota, Brazilian producer killed in plane crash in Rio

The DJ and producer Lucas Brito Chavesknown by the artistic name Lucas Frotais among the six victims of the plane crash which took place this Sunday morning (14), in Rio de Janeiro.

The Brazilian artist accompanied the North American singer Oliver Tree, responsible for hits such as “Life Goes On” and “Miss You”, in Brazil.

Living in Los Angeles for almost ten years, the Brazilian started producing when he was still a child and has participated in major electronic music festivals, such as , in the Black Rock Desert, in Nevada, USA.

Another notable project by Lucas was a DJ set at the foot of Christ the Redeemer, recorded and produced in December 2025. He had more than 41 thousand followers on Instagram and was a resident of the Around The Corner collective, in Miami.

In his latest posts on social media, he posed alongside Brazilian artists DupĂȘ and Mc Tota, and the one also killed in the accident. The two were in the studio together, likely collaborating musically.

The crash of two helicopters in a vehicle yard in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, southwest of Rio de Janeiro, left six people dead this Sunday morning (14). According to firefighters, the aircraft had collided in the air. Of the six fatal victims, five were in a helicopter and only the pilot was in the other aircraft. See the list:
