After the last year of training as part of the 78th class of the General Academy of Air and Space (AGA) ——, Leonor de Borbón now enjoys some leisure time. Since last Sunday, June 14, and until next Friday, the 19th, the princess has been on the island of Gran Canaria with her classmates. This Tuesday, June 16, the heir to the Crown and the rest of the students have arrived at the municipality of Teror, where they have been received by the authorities, in what is already part of a tradition by which the different promotions of the military academy visit this Canarian town as an end-of-year trip.

The town’s City Council has reported on this visit in a statement, which specifies that the princess has traveled there discreetly, avoiding any official representation of the Royal House and participating as another ensign of the promotion. Composed of 72 students (57 men and 15 women) and several teachers under the command of Colonel Ajenjo, the group has been received by the mayor José Agustín Arencibia, who has been accompanied by the first deputy mayor, Sergio Nuez, the parish priest of the Basilica of Teror – where the group has been photographed – Jorge Martín de la Coba, and other municipal representatives.

During the day, Leonor de Borbón and her colleagues from the military academy took a guided tour around the temple, organized by the Teror Tourist Information Office. They have also been able to admire the image of the Virgen del Pino up close, in addition to taking a guided tour of the historic center.

Leonor de Borbón’s first visit to Gran Canaria was in January 2025, during her military training, on the occasion of her stopover in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with the rest of the midshipmen before heading to Brazil.
