FATACIL – Lagoa Crafts, Tourism, Agriculture, Commerce and Industry Fair was awarded the Five Stars Regions Award 2026, a recognition granted based on the opinion of Portuguese consumers.
The distinction once again places the Lagoa fair among the most relevant regional icons at national level, reinforcing its role in promoting the Algarve, the local economy, culture and tourism.
The Five Star Regions Award distinguishes the best that each region of the country has to offer, covering areas such as natural resources, gastronomy, art and culture, heritage and other reference elements.
In the 2026 edition, around 500 thousand consumers participated, with 1,048 brands being analyzed and 100 regional icons being chosen across the country.
Fair reinforces its status among the major events in the Algarve
According to the Municipality of Lagoa, FATACIL is once again recognized as “one of the most relevant events in the Algarve and Portugal”, consolidating its position in the national panorama of multisectoral fairs.
The city hall highlights that the fair has assumed a central role in promoting the territory, economic, cultural and tourist activities, establishing itself as one of the main events on the Algarve calendar.
For the president of , Luís Encarnação, this distinction “represents recognition of the continuous work carried out over decades, particularly in the last twelve years, in valuing FATACIL as a structuring event for the municipality and the region. It is also a reflection of the public’s trust and the fair’s ability to affirm itself as a unique space for promoting the local economy, culture and traditions”.
Award recognizes contributions from exhibitors, partners and visitors
Luís Encarnação also highlights that “this award belongs to everyone who contributes to FATACIL — exhibitors, partners, visitors and teams from the city of Lagoa and other organizations — and reinforces the responsibility to continue raising the quality and projection of this event, which is an identity mark of Lagoa”.
The distinction awarded by the Five Star Regions Award confirms FATACIL as one of the most emblematic events in the country, contributing to the economic and tourist dynamism of the municipality.
