Minister Kássio Nunes Marques (in the foreground) speaks at the launch of the book “The Process and the STF – Constitutional Perspectives”. The STJ ministers were present (from left to right): Carlos Brandão, Reynaldo Soares, Raul Araújo, Humberto Martins, Luis Felipe Salomão, Vilas Boas Cueva and Herman Benjamin
In his speech, Nunes Marques stated that the inspiration for the book came from a series of debates by the organizers on the “nuances of Brazilian justice and the STF”. The minister stated that the text analyzes the challenges and obstacles of excessive judicialization and possible solutions to this issue.
The minister also highlighted that one of the axes of concern for the authors was the long duration of actions in Brazilian justice. According to him, bureaucracy and unjustified delays directly affect the quality of the trial and harm the population.
“I can say that the launch of this special work is a singular, unique event, for a very simple reason: it is the result of many authors, who contributed to the success of this idea that has come to fruition today”declared the president of the TSE.
The book also addresses the challenges facing the STF today, as “last performer” of the Federal Constitution. The work discusses how the court deals with the duty to protect the content of constitutional principles.
