The co-hosts beat South Korea 1-0 (0-0) in Guadalajara on Thursday and left the second-placed team in the Group A table three points behind. The Czech Republic and South Africa are already five points behind after a 1-1 draw in the direct duel before the last match. As in the 2-0 win against South Africa, Mexico kept a clean sheet, with Luis Romo scoring the only goal (50′).
