Piscina oceânica do Arribas Hotel.

There is one of the largest ocean pools in Europe in Portugal and, every year, it attracts visitors again in search of an alternative between the sea and the traditional pool. It is located on Praia Grande, in Sintra, part of the Arribas Sintra Hotel, and stands out for its 100 meters in length and the salt water that comes directly from the ocean.

According to the website, this space usually reopens between April and May, depending on weather conditions, becoming available to both guests and the general public.

Swimming pool that impresses with its size

The structure is considered one of the largest of its kind in Europe and has an unusual configuration for hotels. The main tank extends for 100 meters, in a line parallel to the Atlantic, creating an experience that combines the feeling of the open sea with greater control and safety.

The water maintains temperatures between 19 and 24 degrees, varying according to the time of year and sea conditions. The space also includes a jumping platform equipped with two 3.10 meter boards, adding a recreational component for those looking for another type of use.

Two spaces, different depths

The complex is divided into two distinct zones. One of them is aimed at children, with a depth of up to 65 centimeters, while the other is aimed at adults and reaches 3.95 meters at its deepest point. This separation allows the experience to be adapted to different user profiles, from families with young children to more experienced swimmers.

According to the same source, throughout the bathing season there is permanent surveillance on site, with a lifeguard and two security guards.

Eating without leaving the water

In addition to its size and location, the pool offers additional services that help to extend your stay. Among them is the Coffee Shop, where you can order drinks, ice cream, cakes, sandwiches and toast without needing to leave the pool area.

The hotel explains that this logic aims to transform the visit into a more complete experience, especially during the months of greatest demand. The proximity to the sea and the view of the Praia Grande cliff end up reinforcing this connection between leisure and landscape.

How much does it cost to dive

Prices vary depending on the season. In June, September and October, full-day entry during the week costs 15 euros, while entry after 4 pm is 10 euros. At the weekend, daily access rises to 20 euros, remaining at 10 euros for late afternoon entries.

In the months of July and August, considered high season, prices rise to R$25 during the week and R$30 on weekends and holidays.
