Borja Iglesias experienced a funny episode during the Spanish team’s training camp for the 2026 World Cup. The striker was prevented from entering the hotel where the team is staying, after security guards did not recognize him.
The Celta de Vigo player had taken advantage of the day off granted by coach Luis de la Fuente to go for a walk with his girlfriend in Chattanooga.
Upon returning to the hotel, Borja Iglesias encountered the security team’s distrust. Not even showing images of him playing football was enough to convince officials that he was part of the Spanish team.
Faced with the unusual situation, the attacker ended up contacting members of the national team’s staff, who confirmed his identity and finally allowed him to enter the hotel.
